Delete your account
You can delete your Qatra account and your data at any time, for any reason, without giving us a reason. There are two ways to do it.
Option 1 — In the app (fastest)
- Open Qatra and go to the Profile tab.
- Tap Settings, then Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is deleted immediately.
Option 2 — By email (no app needed)
If you have uninstalled Qatra, lost access to your phone number, or simply prefer email, you do not need to reinstall anything.
Email privacy@qatras.app with the subject "Delete my Qatra account" and include:
- the phone number you registered with, in full international format (for example +92 300 1234567)
We will verify that you control that number before deleting anything — this protects you from someone else deleting your account. We complete verified requests within 30 days, and usually within a few days.
What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- your name, phone number, gender and city
- your donor profile — blood group, date of birth, weight, availability and donation history
- your saved locations and your device notification token
- any blood requests you created
- any medical documents you uploaded, including requisition slips
- your badges, statistics and app preferences
You will stop receiving all notifications from Qatra immediately.
What we may keep, and why
We keep the smallest amount of information we honestly can, and only where keeping it protects someone else:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Chat messages in a conversation you had with another person | A conversation belongs to two people. We cannot erase one side of it without destroying the other person's record — which matters if they are ever accused of something, or need to report abuse. | Up to 24 months, then deleted. Your name is removed. |
| Ban records (a one-way hash of the phone number and device) | Only if your account was banned for fraud, harassment, or asking for money for blood. Without this, deleting an account would be a way to erase a ban and start again — which is exactly what we must prevent. | As long as needed to prevent repeat abuse. |
| Anonymous, aggregated statistics | Counts like "donations arranged this month". These contain nothing that identifies you and cannot be traced back to you. | Indefinitely. |
| Basic connection logs | Pakistani law (PECA 2016) requires providers to retain certain traffic metadata. This does not include the content of your messages. | As required by law. |
These retentions are permitted by Google Play's data deletion policy, which allows keeping limited data for legal compliance, security and fraud prevention. We do not keep anything beyond that.
Just want a break instead?
You do not have to delete everything to stop being contacted. In the app, turn off "Available to donate" and you will stop receiving requests immediately, while keeping your account and history. You can turn it back on whenever you want.
